The story behind Old Royal Naval College

Greenwich is one of the few places I love to photograph where the subject isn’t modern buildings. The colonnade shown in this shot and the similar ones at the nearby Queen’s House both have great potential.

I didn’t have to wait too long for the lone tourist to show up for this image, although it’s probably busier on warmer days than when I visited. With the day being very overcast, there weren’t any strong shadows from the pillars, which helped to keep the shot cleaner.

I have some other shots from Greenwich, specifically the Tulip Stairs and the courtyard at the Queen’s House. The Greenwich Foot Tunnel is also very photogenic.
