The story behind Quartet
I love the simplicity of this shot. Long exposures on small lakes or rivers often don’t work that well, as there isn’t enough movement in the water to create the classic milky effect. This was a bitterly cold winter’s day, with a strong wind whipping up the surface and a grey sky reflected in the waves – ideal conditions for this 2 minute exposure.
