Location: Great Court, British Museum

This is one of the best public spaces in London. The glass and steel roof lets through a wonderful, subdued light, while casting shadows that interplay beautifully with the curves and columns of the buildings. Not surprisingly, it's a hotspot for photography.

The obvious shot is of the central, circular building and the stairs that sweep down either side of it, taken from the viewing gallery above the entrance to the Great Court. Take the widest lens you have - my 24-70 wasn't wide enough to get it all in.

In such a popular location, you'll be hard pressed to find an original composition but I had a fun half hour capturing images like this one.

Gear: Nikon Z7 and Z 24-70 f/4
