Location: Canary Wharf, London

The Adams Plaza Bridge runs between Adams Plaza (obviously) and Crossrail Place in Canary Wharf.

It's a hugely popular photospot but one that needs a little care to get right. Unless you're happy to have people in the shot, you'll only have a few seconds when it's empty. Not much time to make sure you're dead centre and everything lines up.

The bridge itself is actually well lit but shooting in this direction (from Crossrail Place) it's easy to blow out the highlights from the windows near the end. Protecting the highlights creates a sinister mood, which is just a little different from most images of this location.

Gear: Nikon D810 and Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8
